Terneuzen, The Netherlands – 24 March 2025

My passion for hospitality technology started in an unexpected place—a pizzeria in Ireland. At 16, I met Ross Cronin while on vacation in Spain. That chance meeting led to my first trip to Ireland and the start of a great friendship. Before long, I was spending nearly every holiday there. Initially, it was to visit Ross, but I soon found myself spending more and more time at his family’s business, Godfathers Pizza, where I started out making pizzas.

But it didn’t take long before my focus shifted to what was happening behind the scenes. Even back then, Ross was already working on optimizing restaurant operations. He designed processes to ensure that a 9-inch pizza never exceeded a specific weight—finding the perfect balance between quality and cost-efficiency. Over time, technology became increasingly important in the restaurant. From optimizing the POS system to integrating online ordering—this was happening over 25 years ago, long before digital transformation became the industry standard.

The Role of Technology in the Restaurant Industry

Fast forward to 2025, and technology is more essential to the hospitality industry than ever. What once centered around basic automation has evolved into sophisticated integrations that streamline processes and drive business growth. At Omniboost, this is what we work toward every day. Our integrations are becoming more advanced, and together with our global partners, we’re opening new distribution channels and helping restaurants and accountants optimize their workflows even further.

As Head of Strategic Partnerships at Omniboost, I manage some of our Tier 1 and Tier 2 partners while also overseeing the broader partnerships team within our commercial organization. We’re a small but dedicated team, fortunate to collaborate with outstanding partners worldwide. Together, we’re building an ecosystem where technology continues to push the hospitality industry forward.

The Future of Hospitality Tech

What fascinates me most about this industry is that, despite all the changes, some core principles remain the same. It’s always been about optimizing processes to make restaurants more efficient. Just as Ross Cronin was focused on improvements back then, today, he runs his own kitchen screen company, Rocketbox.io. As for me, I’ve found my place in tech innovation at Omniboost, where—thanks to my background and expertise in POS technology—I’ve proudly earned the nickname “POS Father”.

In 2025, we remain committed to deeper integrations and strategic partnerships. Technology will only continue to grow in importance, and together with our partners, we aim to ensure that restaurants worldwide have access to the best tools available.
